The Pitch

Most insurance shops are built to extract from agents. Captive shops trap you with your codes. Volume IMOs treat you like a number. Lone-wolf setups leave you alone with the paperwork. Swan was built different on purpose — by operators who got tired of the alternative.

What You Get

Six things you'll find at Swan that most shops don't offer.

No mystery. No "ask in the interview." Here's what we put on the table when we hire you — in writing, in specifics, from day one. The specific numbers we'll talk about in the conversation — because they depend on you.

01

Comp right-fit to you

We don't run a one-size-fits-all schedule. We look at your experience, your effort, and how much hand-holding you'll need — then we structure something generous where it counts, mindful of what the firm can sustain. It's a conversation. Not a take-it-or-leave-it.

Generous
Structured per agent
not per shop policy
02

Your call on leads

Some agents close best on inbound calls. Others on web-form leads. Others want to build their own funnel and keep 100% of the upside. Swan has all three. You pick what fits how you sell — and switch later if you find a better rhythm.

03

Day-one book ownership

No vesting games. No "we hold your codes." When you write a policy at Swan, that policy is yours. You leave, you take it. We earn your loyalty by being a place worth staying — not by trapping you into it.

Day 1

04

Three lines. One firm.

Health, Medicare, and life — under one roof, one back office, one set of standards. Cross-sell when it serves the client. Specialize when it serves you. We've structured the firm so an agent doesn't have to leave to grow into the next product.

vs. The Rest

Swan vs. where you are now.

If you're at a captive shop or a typical IMO, the trade-offs are real. Here's the honest comparison — not the marketing version.

Where you are now

Captive Shop

The one with the brand name on the door.

  • One carrier. Your client gets one option.
  • They own your codes. You leave, you lose.
  • Comp set by HQ. Not negotiable.
  • Lead flow controlled by territory politics.
  • You work for them. Not for the client.
The other option

Typical IMO

The "independent" shop you got pitched last quarter.

  • Multiple carriers — but sub-coded under them.
  • Vesting schedules. 3 years before it's "yours."
  • Comp clawed back at the top. You see 70%.
  • You buy your own leads. From a list nobody warmed.
  • Back office is a phone tree. You're alone.
Your Path

Two ways to build at Swan. You pick the one that fits.

Some producers crush on inbound calls. Others want to own the full funnel and keep every dollar of upside. Swan supports both — the same back office, the same training, the same firm. The difference is the lead model and the comp structure that goes with it.

Path 01 · Company-fed

For the agent who wants to plug in and sell.

You want inbound calls. You want verified web-form leads. You want to walk into a Monday and have phones ringing — not spend the first three hours dialing a list. Swan's company-fed path puts you in front of buyers from day one.

  • Inbound calls during OEP, AEP, and year-round
  • OTP-verified web leads — delivered to your CRM in seconds
  • Live transfers from our digital properties
  • Comp structured around cost of lead — generous on what you produce
  • Best for: agents who close well on warm inbound conversations
Apply for company-fed path
Path 02 · Self-generated

For the agent who wants full upside.

You have your own lead source, your own funnel, your own sphere — or you'd rather build one. You don't want to share the upside of leads you brought yourself. Swan's self-generated path gives you the carriers, the back office, and the training — and gets out of your way.

  • Top comp — you keep what you bring
  • Full access to the carrier roster — three lines under one roof
  • Same back office, licensing, and compliance support
  • Same daily training if you want it — skip it if you don't
  • Best for: experienced producers, sphere-of-influence sellers, captive breakouts

The Conversation

We don't run a script. We run a conversation.

When you apply at Swan, you don't get a phone screen from a recruiter who'll "circle back." You get 20 minutes with leadership — and we cover the things that matter, in plain English. Here's what we'll actually talk about.

01
What you've done — and what you're actually good at.
Years in the industry. Lines you've sold. What's been working and what hasn't. We're not running a quota — we're trying to figure out what you'll actually thrive in.
02
How you want to get your leads.
Inbound calls? Verified web leads? Your own funnel? Some mix? There's a path for each — and the comp structure shifts with it. We'll lay out the trade-offs and let you choose.
03
How much support you actually need.
Some agents need daily coaching. Others want to be left alone with their book. Neither is wrong. But the right comp structure depends on which one you are — and we'd rather be honest about it up front.
04
What generous looks like for your situation.
We don't show comp on a website. Levels vary by line, carrier, and the structure that fits you. What we'll commit to is this: we're generous where it counts, mindful of what the firm can sustain, and you'll see it in writing before you sign anything.
05
Whether Swan is actually the right fit.
Sometimes the answer is no. We'd rather pass on a hire than bring someone on who won't be happy here — or who'd be better off somewhere else. An honest no is more valuable than a yes you'd regret.
How We Work

Two ways to plug in. Both built to win.

Some producers do their best work in a room full of producers. Others crush from a home office in a town we've never been to. We support both — with the same standards, the same training, and the same back office.

Option 01 · In-office

The Clermont sales floor

Inbound calls 11AM–7PM ET. A real floor with real producers. Leadership two desks away. Daily training in person. For the agent who knows they sell better in a room.

Option 02 · Remote

Anywhere in the country

Same carrier access. Same leads. Same back office. Same training over video. We've placed producers from Texas to Maine. You bring the work ethic, we bring the infrastructure.

FAQ

The questions every agent asks.

If you have a question we didn't answer here, ask us on the phone. We'd rather have an honest conversation than make you guess.

What lines do you contract on?
Health (ACA Marketplace and private), Medicare (Advantage, Supplement, Part D), and life insurance (term, whole, universal, indexed universal life, final expense, annuities). We hold direct contracts with 20+ carriers including UnitedHealthcare, Mutual of Omaha, Humana, Transamerica, Corebridge, Manhattan Life, Ambetter, Cigna, BCBS in five states, and more.
Why don't you show comp on the website?
Because one number doesn't fit every agent. A producer with ten years of book and their own lead source needs a different structure than someone who's two months out of pre-licensing and learning on inbound calls. Both can do well at Swan. Neither should be told a single comp number that "applies to everyone" — because that number always favors the firm, not the agent. We talk through your situation, we lay out the structure that fits, and you see it in writing before you sign anything.
Do I really own my book day one?
Yes. Every policy you write at Swan is yours. If you leave, you take it. We don't play vesting games and we don't hold codes hostage. This is in writing in your contract before you sign — not a verbal "trust me."
Where do leads come from?
Depends on the path you choose. If you're on our company-fed path, leads come from inbound calls to our digital properties, OTP-verified web-form submissions, and live transfers. If you're on the self-generated path, you bring the leads — and you keep more of the upside on what you produce. We support both, and the right one depends on you. We'll talk through it on the call.
Do I have to be in Florida?
No. We have a real sales floor in Clermont, FL for producers who want the in-person environment, but Swan operates as a national agency. We have producers in multiple states. If you're licensed in your state and you can show up on Zoom for daily training, you can build here.
I'm new to insurance. Will you train me?
Yes — our new-agent track is built for this. Daily live training, shadowing experienced producers, structured ramp. That said, we hire for work ethic and coachability. If you're not willing to put in the hours to learn, this isn't the place. If you are, you'll be in great hands.
How fast do I get paid?
Depends on the carrier and the product. Most health and Medicare carriers advance commission — you get paid shortly after the policy issues, not over 12 months. Life carriers vary. When we structure your appointments, we'll walk you through the specific advance schedule for each carrier so there are no surprises.
What's the catch?
Honest answer: we hold a high standard. If you don't want to do daily training, if you can't take coaching, or if you're looking for a place to coast — you won't be happy here. We're not a churn-and-burn shop. We invest real time and money into the agents we hire. We're selective about who we bring on because of that. If you take this profession seriously, that should sound like an upside, not a catch.
